Rostock and Pafos co-sign CultMark Partnership Accord

The Haensatic City of Rostock and the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Tourism Committee, co-signed the Partnership Accord of the CultMark operation at Rostock City Hall on 30 May 2005. The signing took place during the 3rd meeting of the Inter-Regional Steering Committee held in Rostock and Wismar on 29-31 May 2005. The Senator for Culture, Sport and Education, Ms Ida Schillen, signed on behalf of the Haensatic City of Rostock, in the presence of the Mayor of Rostock, Mr Arno Pfker. The Tourism Committee Marketing Manager, Mr Nasos Chadjigeorgiou, signed on behalf of the President of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr Kyriakos Drousiotis.

Partners from Rostock and Pafos could not attend the high-level meeting of senior elected representatives held at Nea Ionia Magnesia in August 2004 to celebrate the start of the Olympic Games. At that meeting, the Partnership Accord was signed by the Mayor of Nea Ionia Magnesia as well as by the President of DEMKA, CultMark Lead Partner (Greece), the Sheriff of Chester (UK) on behalf of the five UK partners, the Executive Director of Kainuu region and the Mayor of Kajaani (Finland).

The signing by Rostock and Pafos completes this important CultMark Partnership Accord which expresses the willingness of the authorities of Nea Ionia Magnesia, Chester, Kainuu/Kajaani, Rostock and Pafos "to exchange experiences, ideas and best practices and to act in a way to strengthen the warm relationships developed between our citizens, towards sustainable development through promotion of cultural heritage, local identity and place marketing".
