The participation in international tourism fairs is an effective way to reach both professionals in tourism as well as the general public.

The Cyprus CultMark partner, the Tourism Committee of the Pafos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, promoted the CultMark operation at two recent international tourism fairs in London and Berlin, through the Pafos stand (Cyprus Tourism Organisation), viz:

World Travel Market, held in London 8-11 November 2004, and

ITB Berlin (International Tourism Exchange), 11-15 March 2005.

At both events, copies of the new brochures of the Pafos Region were distributed as well as the CultMark operation leaflet.

In particular the Pafos Tourism Committee promoted the Pafos Aphrodite Festival 2005 which is a demonstration action within CultMark with the staging of Verdi’s “La Traviata” in September 2005. ‘Pafos Aphrodite Festival Cyprus’ (a non-profit company, chaired currently by the Mayor of Pafos Town) is an associate member of the Pafos Tourism Committee and as such an important stakeholder of the CultMark operation.

Further participation of the CultMark partnership in relevant international fairs is planned for 2005 and 2006, through the Pafos stand.
