The Final Conference of the INTERREG IIIC CultMark Operation, under the theme "Place Marketing for Sustainable Development: Strategies and Prospects” was held successfully at “Silkium”, Metaxourgio, Nea Ionia, Magnesia, Greece, on 14-16 September 2006, with more than 80 participants from the partnership, as well as guests.
Amongst the guests of the Conference, there was the Programme Manager from the INTERREG IIIC Joint Technical Secretariat East, Mrs Andrea Igazi and the Lord Mayor of Chester Mrs Sandra Rudd,
as well as Mayors and other elected representatives from each partner area.
During the Conference there were presentations of the main results of the Operation, as well as the deliverables and the audiovisual material produced.
The Conference participants also had the chance to visit the CultMark Visitor Information Centre in Nea Ionia, the Panthessaliko Stadium and other cultural sites in Nea Ionia and enjoyed the events that were organised by DEMKA.
The elected representatives from all partner areas participated at the Panel discussion and signed the Declaration of Nea Ionia on Place Marketing for Sustainable Development.
